Como Hotel 1916-1976

The Como was named for the four streets that surround the city block on which it stood:

Central Avenue
Olive Street
Market Street
Ouachita Avenue

The location today is occupied by the Landmark Building, a stately Greek Revival structure.

Melroy here- Believe it or not, I watched this baby get blown up. Happened to be in HS on a secret mission on that day and encountered police resistance in trying to get to Martin's Pool Hall and Recreation Center (our temporary HQ for the mission). It was quite amazing to watch it fall. Hmmm, that had to be in the middle 70s. Can't verify date as we had to burn all mission records recently. The Colonel
